Sika est un jeune artiste ivoirien né en 1985, à Abidjan, en République de Côte d’Ivoire. C’est un photo-maker , c’est –à-dire qu’il prend des photographies puis les retravaille. Il transforme la réalité : la réalité d’un pays, d’une société afin de rendre compte de sa réalité.

Son travail apporte une nouvelle dynamique dans la création contemporaine africaine: les nouvelles technologies ont leur place dans ses compositions photographiques, et leur confèrent une dimension surnaturelle. Il fait alors partie d’une nouvelle génération d’artistes africains qui décloisonnent l’art contemporain et l’ouvrent au champ des nouvelles technologies.

Paul Sika is a young Ivorian artist born in 1985 in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. He is a photo-maker, that is to say, he takes photographs then he  reworks them. Sika transforms reality:  the reality of a country, a society to realize its reality. His work brings a new dynamic in the african contemporary creation: new technologies have their place in his photographic compositions, and gives them a supernatural dimension. He becomes part of a new generation of African artists who decompartmentalise contemporary art and open it to  the new technologies field.
